Canadian Federal guidelines suggest that seniors should be aiming to achieve 150 minutes of moderate physical activity a week for preventative medicine. Yet, only one in ten are found to actually be achieving this suggested goal. Researchers found in a study with seniors with arthritis in their knees that those who reached the more attainable weekly goal of 45 minutes of moderate physical activity a week were more likely to maintain mobility over the next couple years than their less active counterparts.
